About The Author

Bob Earley

Meet Bob

Bob Earley was a parishioner of a catholic church in Chicago’s southwest suburbs for over twenty years.

His wife’s family is well established, and respected; parishioners of the same church.

Family members two and three generations before, along with other parishioners of the same nationality, committed endless hours, time, and money designing and building the church from the ground up.

This proud group was determined to make their church unique to the area and town. When many churches were being built with red clay bricks, these parishioners chose material that was not used before: Indiana limestone.

And when parishioners with similar regional heritage from another catholic church, just “across the river” wanted to build their own church, founders decided to make theirs bigger than their “rival” neighbors, adding two towering spires compared to their one of moderate height.

Bob’s life was fairly isolated from public spotlight until after he accepted a position to his church’s finance committee along with several other parishioners. Within a year of this assignment, the lives of all committee members will be turned upside down; credibility questioned; friendships lost; family members and parishioners turn against them.

However, by staying committed to each other and their common moral convictions, they will see that justice would be served. But, not without costs to each of them.

Each of their healing journeys were different in length and life perspective. Bob’s journey certainly was not one that was expected. And yet he persevered, a changed man that still has scars and memories that will be forever hidden from his family.

Bob encourages you to read “For I Have Sinned,” hoping it provides you answers in your own healing journey, if not, then perhaps some comfort knowing that you now know someone who was went through what some of you may have experienced.

I Wrote A Book
About Justice, Redemption, and Forgiveness

When institutions built on faith betray the very people they are meant to protect, silence becomes complicity.

This book exposes the hidden corruption of church leaders who were entrusted to shepherd their parishes and dioceses, but instead conspired behind closed doors, leveraging sacred authority for personal power and self-interest. Through painstaking detail and deeply human storytelling, it reveals how systemic wrongdoing is not sustained by a single act, but by networks of silence, fear, and misplaced loyalty.
